The Weirdling hat is a beanie with a comfy fit and simple stranded colourwork. It’s worked in two colours, in the round from the bottom up, with an abstract, geometric stranded motif on the main body of the hat. The brim and crown are worked in the main colour. Options are given for a single or folded double brim.

Yarn: Marina Skua Mendip DK (120 m / 131 yd per 50 g skein)
MC: 40 (45, 50) g or 100 (110, 120) m / 110 (120, 130) yd
CC: 10 (10, 15) g or 25 (30, 40) m / 30 (35, 45) yd

Yarn requirements are given for double brim version; slightly less of MC will be required for a single brim.

Gauge: 21 sts and 23 rounds = 10 cm / 4” in colourwork pattern in the round on larger needles, after blocking

6 mm / US 6 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” length (or size required to obtain correct gauge)
4 mm / US 6 double-pointed needles or longer circular needle for magic loop, if desired (or size required to obtain correct gauge)
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” length (or needle 2 sizes smaller than main needle)
