These socks are worked from the toe up, with a pattern of simple lace and moss stitch columns, which flow naturally into the cuff ribbing. Instructions are given for using the magic loop method on circular needles. The foot and leg length are customisable.
The name ‘Fleos’ is the Old English word for ‘fleece’. Emma, the dyer behind Woolly Mammoth Fibre Company, and I have often discussed the practicalities behind sourcing wool and creating yarn, so the name celebrates the work we love.
The sample pair shown used 60 g of yarn in Size 2 with a total foot length of 23 cm / 9” and a total leg length of 18 cm / 7”. It is shown with 5 cm / 2” negative ease.
