Commissions and collaborations

Commissions and collaborations

In addition to the ready-made items available in the online shopI hand-dye, card, spin and weave to order. I love to work with farms and other textile artists and crafters.

Do you have an idea for a wall-hanging that would complete your home decor? Maybe you have wool from your own sheep you'd like hand-dyed or spun with care into yarn? Or are you a  weaver looking for the perfect materials for your next project? Please get in contact if you'd like to enquire or request a commission.

Yarn support

I am keen to work with designers to develop patterns for knitting and crochet with Marina Skua yarn.

If you'd like to design an item using Marina Skua yarn, please get in contact with information on what you'd like to design, how much yarn you'll need and a rough timeline, and we can go from there. If it looks like we'll work well together I'll request a more detailed submission with sketches and swatches.

Currently Mendip 4-Ply will be the focus for designs.

Collaboration focus: Bright Moon Weaving Studio

Imogen of Bright Moon Weaving Studio, based in Brighton, approached me to create some yarn for her to weave into pieces for her exhibition, Selkie, Weaving and the Wild Feminine. We worked together, with Imogen blending up natural fibres in their native colours and subtly plant-dyed shades, then sending these to me in batches to spin into textured yarn. Imogen then combined these varied yarns with vintage threads and yarns from other hand-spinners plus some commercial warp yarn to weave into heavily textured large pieces with depth and subtlety.

You can read a conversation we had about textiles and our work together that Imogen shared on her website.

A select number of the finished woven pieces have been featured on The Future Kept.
