Frosty Mornings colourwork sweater knitting pattern
Please note: This listing is for a digital PDF download of the knitting pattern only and does not include the materials to make the item.
Frosty Mornings is a seamless, top down sweater knitting pattern with a circular yoke that combines stranded colourwork and cables for a beautiful winter knit.
This cosy DK-weight jumper is designed to have 10cm of positive ease, so it's an easy handknit layer for wearing in winter over the top of a dress or long sleeved top.
If you enjoy the rhythm of charted colourwork with a bit of cable knitting, Frosty Mornings sweater is a fun and engaging winter knitting project for you to add to your project queue, with lots of interesting knitting techniques, like the corrugated ribbing at the cuffs which add a pretty textural finish.
Construction
The Frosty Mornings sweater is worked from the top down in two colours. A tubular cast-on gives a stretchy edge at the neck ribbing, and short rows raise the back neck. When the yoke is complete, the sleeves are put on hold and underarm stitches are cast on for the body. When the body is finished, the sleeves are returned to the needles and underarm stitches are picked up. Sleeves are shaped with decreases down to the cuff. The neck, cuffs and hem are in corrugated ribbing.
