Galdor v neck, open cardigan knitting pattern
Please note: This listing is for a digital PDF download of the knitting pattern only and does not include the materials to make the item.
Galdor is an open cardigan with drop shoulders and mid-length sleeves, with stranded colourwork bands round the front edge and sleeve cuffs.
The body is worked bottom-up in the round, with v-neck shaping, and steeks for the front and armholes. Stitches are picked up for the front band, worked in the round in stranded colourwork, with a contrast stockinette facing. The bottom of the front bank is steeked, and the facing is stitched to the inside to hide the steeked edges. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves, worked in the round in stockinette, then the cuffs are worked in stranded colourwork and a contrast stockinette facing as for the front band.
The sample shown uses three colours: a mid grey for the main colour, cream for contrast colour 1, and a slightly darker grey for contrast colour 2. If preferred, the design can be worked with just two colours, using the main colour yarn wherever contrast colour 2 is specified.
