Scrumper Waistcoat v-neck waistcoat knitting pattern
Please note: This listing is for a digital PDF download of the knitting pattern only and does not include the materials to make the item.
The Scrumper Waistcoat is a celebration of textural details and a classic silhouette that’s perfect for layering up. With a v-neck, straight body and choice of lengths and button placement (left or right), it’s a versatile piece that can suit a variety of styles and genders. The waistcoat has moss stitch edging flanked by columns of simple cables that run up the sides and front opening, and flow around the armholes and neck.
The waistcoat is knitted bottom-up, with the buttonband worked at the same time as the body. Fronts and back are separated at the underarm, with armhole and neck shaping. The shoulders are seamed with a three-needle bind-off, and extensions of the buttonband are knitted and stitched down round the back neck. Stitches are picked up for the armhole and worked in moss stitch.
Style the longer-bodied version (as written) with a button-up shirt and straight trousers or a dress, or make a cropped version and wear with wide sleeves and a high waist. And there’s enough room in the armholes that you can wear it over a light jumper for chillier days!
