The Sirita hat is all about combining scrap yarns for rich texture. Mix and match different fibres, varying yarn weights and make it your own! The hat features a cosy double brim and surprisingly simple colourwork, and is worked from the bottom up in the round.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3)

Measurements:
Finished circumference: 46 (50, 54) cm / 18 (19.5, 21.25)”
Height: 18.5 (20, 21.5) cm / 7.5 (8, 8.5)”

Yarn: As this pattern is designed to use up scraps, yarn requirements are very approximate.
You will need roughly DK-weight yarn in at least two colours. You can use multiple colours to make up Yarns A and B; these designators are simply used to make instructions clear when more than one yarn is used per round. The bluey grey sample shown used a total of six different yarns.
As the aim is for a textural effect, you can include sport- and worsted-weight yarns as well, or hold together two strands of lighter-weight yarn. You can get away with a bit less of Yarn A if you omit the double brim.
Yarn A: At least 30 (35, 40) g
Yarn B: At least 20 (20, 35) g

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rounds = 10 cm / 4” in charted pattern in the round on larger needles, after blocking

Needles:
4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” length (or size required to obtain correct gauge)
4 mm / US 6 double-pointed needles or longer circular needle for magic loop, if desired (or size required to obtain correct gauge)
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” length (or needle 2 sizes smaller than main needle)

Notions: Stitch markers, darning needle for sewing in ends.
