Local natural fibres

Get your hand-dyed yarn fix, guilt-free

You won't find any synthetic or superwash yarn here. It's all natural fibres sourced locally in the South-West of England from happy, healthy animals.

My hand-dyed skeins are spun to a high standard by small UK mills and dyed by hand in small batches using environmentally conscious methods in my Wiltshire studio.

100% British wool

My aim is to reduce ‘yarn miles’ wherever I can. All Marina Skua yarn is spun from locally sourced wool, grown by happy, well-treated animals on farms I’ve visited, local to my studio in Wiltshire in the South West of England.

My wool top for spinning is breed-specific, certified British wool from farms across the UK, processed in a small, family-owned mill in Gloucester.

Hand-dyed with care

All of my hand-dyed yarn and spinning fibre is dyed by me in small batches, using non-toxic dyes and ancillaries. While I do use synthetic dyes for consistency and colourfastness, sustainability is always a priority.

I always exhaust my dye vats completely, so no dye goes into the water system, and reuse the dye water as many times as possible to ensure nothing goes to waste.

Eco-friendly packaging

My sustainable practices extend right through to packing up your orders. All yarn and fibre is packaged by me in plastic-free unbleached paper.

This packaging is eco-friendly and easy to dispose of responsibly. It can either be recycled or fully composted at home, breaking down naturally without leaving a trace.
