Mistland v-neck, balloon sleeve cardigan knitting pattern
Mistland contrasts a simple, boxy shape for the body with a flowing lace pattern on the balloon sleeves for a floating, ethereal feel that evokes the gentle, diffuse light of a misty dawn.
The body of the cardigan begins with a tubular cast-on and is worked bottom-up in one piece to the underarms. The back is then worked with German short-row shaping for the shoulders, then the fronts are worked with decreases for the v neck, and short-row shaping for the shoulders, which are seamed with a three-needle cast-off. Stitches are picked up for the buttonbands and worked in ribbing with buttonholes. Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves and worked in a lace pattern without shaping to the wrists, where stitches are decreased before the cuff ribbing.
